Meeting Notes

At the Jan 8 meeting we went over how some of the workout problems can be solved with the help of a calculator.

The first timers did Workout 2 and the others Workout 7. If you missed the meeting, I'll be accepting those until Jan 22. There will not be Mathcounts on Jan 15.

At the Dec 18 meeting we went over some of the more difficult unsolved problems.

We also practiced the use of calculators which are allowed in the Target round. The first timers did Workout 1 and the others Workout 6.

Mathcounts does not impose limits in terms of how powerful the calculator can be as long as it does not have a QWERTY-style keyboard (and ABCDE style keyboard is ok). It is important, however, that you use a calculator you are familiar with. For most problems, a simple calculator will do fine.

At the Dec 11 meeting we went over last week's set. We split the sets. The first timers did Warmup 3/2022 and the others Warmup 12.

At the next meeting, we will do some workouts that require a calculator. If you own one, please bring it.
