The topic of the meeting was divisor counting, divisor sum, and Euler's Phi.

We did our first warmups today. These warmups will work as follows. I will choose a level of difficulty based on how well you did on your previous one. If you solve 5 or more problems, I'll count it as one point towards qualification for the team/chapter contest. You may choose to not work independently (discuss it with your neighbor), but then I will not count it.

At our first meeting, we discussed the Club Rules. Please read them. If you haven't signed up for AoPS, please do so and share your AoPS account name with me.

As a reminder, we are meeting every Monday at 3pm in the Virtual Reality Lab behind the library.

The topic of the meeting was arithmetic.

Honorable Mention

Ethan Zhu was recognized as highest-scoring contestant not on a team.

Advancing to State

In addition to the 4 teams members

  • Andrew Du
  • Lijin Wang
  • Samson Ou
  • Theta Back

two additional students advanced as individual contestants to the state contest:

  • Ethan Zhu
  • Amrita Sarangi

If our chapter had been allowed to send 8 students as in previous years, the runner ups would have been Shaun Mackey, Sara Awate, and Dennis Zhao.

We will thus be sending 6 students to the State round, which takes place Mar 2 in Fredericksburg. Congratulations to all!

Thank you to Mrs. Bonnie Caldwell for accompanying us on the trip and for principal Dr. Johnson to sponsor it.
